Yes, it is true, it is 2008 and yes, Jess is here again. Why? Well, it is the Euro. Its football time and we just got really used to each other spending time together during the summer.
6 weeks of Twister stories you will find on here. And for as long as the Euro is on, we will for sure follow the games of our teams. They are of course Portugal, Germany and now for me Romania. I doubt we will see them too long in the tournament, but hey, who knows, right?
Anyway, at this point we already saw the Portugal vs Turkey game. It ended 2-0 for Portugal, that made us proud. We watched the game at the Monkeys place, wearing Portugal jerseys. Jess had her Ronaldo one and I was wearing my Figo shirt. Memories, you know.
Sabine, who is a big Nuno fan, was cheering with us, while we ate our BBQ stuff and laughed about the fact that one of the Turkish players looked like "Sayide" from our fave show "LOST".
Anyway, Pepe and Raul M. scored the goals and aside of Deco *who started shitting us off* Portugal looked very good, solide and attacking. Oh and Figo was in the stadium looking fancy in his jacket and jeans. Sexy as always.
The Germany game we watched in a Pub with other Germany fans. And Sabine of course, who left Notker and Corvin at home to enjoy a girls night at the football. We had some nice fun, watching Germany beat Poland 2-0 aswell. Podolski scored both goals and Gomez missed a fantastic oppertunity right in the beginning. Very good performance by Fritz who started as the surprise on the Schweinsteiger position. Still Schweini got his chance to shine later on the game and he also had a very good performance.
Nice victory by Germany and now we have to wait how their performance will be vs Croatia, because then I guess you can really tell how strong they are. Go GERMANY!
On the way home people were waving the Germany flag out of their cars and many fans jumped and danced. Okay, we only won one single game so far, but the spirit of 2006 is still around. I never saw so many Pubs showing football games before. Its nice to get that little part of the 06 summer back again.
That is our first Germany game in pictures: True Germany Fans!
I hope we can report more fun from the Romania game!
